Standardized Testing App for Open-Ended Questions on Nationally Administered Tests for K-12

Welcome to the Standardized Testing App. This tool is designed to help educators score open-ended responses from K-12 students on nationally administered tests. To get started, please upload the required documents: Test Item, Rubric, and Baseline Responses. Optional documents can be uploaded to further refine the scoring process.

Required Documents

To begin scoring, please upload the following documents:
1. Test Item: The test question or multipart test item, including any charts, graphs, images, or visual references.
2. Rubric: The scoring guide that outlines how student responses should be evaluated. This document must detail the discrete scores tied to the key concepts expected in the responses.
3. Baseline Responses: A set of student responses that have been scored with explanations for each specific score on the rubric.

Optional Documents

For more refined scoring, you can upload additional documents:
1. Inclusions and Exclusions: Guidelines for acceptable and unacceptable verbiage for responses, including partial credit criteria.
2. Special Considerations: Directions for handling blank, unintelligible, non-English, refusals, and concerning responses.
3. Calibration Sets: Example responses with scores and explanations to handle edge cases and clarify rubric application.

Scoring Section

Once documents are uploaded, the scoring section will be accessible. Here, you can upload student responses for evaluation.
Upload student responses in text, image, or PDF format. Each response must include:
- StudentID (unique)
- TestQuestionID (unique to the test item)
- At least one date and time (all dates and times present on the document with related annotations)
- The typed student response

Output and Reporting

The scores will be compiled and displayed with options for manual review. Each score will include an explanation based on the rubric.
